Meet Melita

My life’s passion has always been traveling to exotic and foreign places. My most recent trips have included participating in a turtle release program and swimming in the underground caves of Cancun; a cruise to Norway to experience the midnight sun and hike a glacier; a trip to Peru to see Machu Picchu; an East African safari to watch the wildebeest migration; and a cruise to Antarctica.

I started my career in travel in 1981 with a European tour operator helping my cousin during the summer. After they moved their office to New York I started working for Fleetridge Travel in 1983. I graduated from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents acquiring the designation of Certified Travel Counselor in 1994. I am a designated specialist for Western Europe, as well as Switzerland. 

Born in Germany, my passion for travel is what brought me to California in the late 70's. I visit my home country several times each year, and in my leisure time I am involved with the German American Societies, The House of Germany and the German Film Festival here in San Diego.

As president and co-owner of Fleetridge Travel, I am in the office every day assisting clients and managing daily office operations.

Meet Harry

As vice president and co-owner, Harry is responsible for office improvements and education. He is a retired master carpenter and cabinet maker. Even prior to becoming a partner in the agency, travel has always been his passion. He has been to every continent and has visited all 50 US states!
